River Saint Joe is a start-up farmstead brewery and farm destination located a stone’s throw from the St. Joseph River on Flatwater Farms, a beautiful organic hop yard and farm in Buchanan, Michigan. We are farmers, friends, dog lovers, bee keepers, beer drinkers, rowers, photographers, single and family folks. We’re looking for warm, authentic, passionate, inspired, hard-working, fun, and experienced persons to join the team.

We’re in search of talented individuals to serve as line cooks to make a reality the vision of farming, harvesting, creating and serving farm-to-table food that expresses the land and the place. We are looking for someone who will help us share a high quality farm experience with our guests. Duties and Responsibilities:

Work directly with executive Chef Audy in the kitchen to craft a unique and fresh offering from the farm and on the farm.

Ensure the highest level of food quality and diligently follow SOPs.

Maintain equipment and a clean kitchen.

Assist Chef and in some cases, take responsibility for procuring, receiving, processing, and monitoring raw materials to keep the kitchen running smoothly and in-line with sustainable requirements.

Think creatively about resource usage and minimization, including by-product recycling and reuse.

Create and uphold strong, positive culture around River Saint Joe’s organic, transparent, and sustainable mission.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Dedication to sustainable and organic production and ability to work flexibly with the ingredients the farm can produce.

Ability to work positively and productively with Chef and other staff.

Minimum one year experience in the kitchen.

Passion for farm-to-table food.

Potential to take on leadership roles.

Willingness to work with the team do what is necessary to further the business and its mission and vision.
